🥢 A Scoop, Not a Swab
Its small flat scoop slides into the ear canal and draws the earwax outwards. Nothing gets packed down at the back.
It's a tool of Japanese origin that has been used there for centuries — the mimikaki.
🧩 How to Use It
- Insert the scoop gently, without forcing, no more than one centimetre
- Gently scrape along the wall of the ear canal
- Draw it back outwards
- Wipe it, then rinse with soapy water
Never go further than feels comfortable. The eardrum is delicate, and no accessory should go anywhere near it.

A family of four gets through several thousand cotton buds over the years. One Oriculi replaces them all — it lasts indefinitely.
Cotton buds with plastic stems have in fact been banned from sale in France since January 2020.
💡 When not to use it. If you have pain, discharge, reduced hearing or an existing blockage, don't persist: see a doctor. An established blockage shouldn't be removed yourself, and forcing it makes it worse.

How often should I use it?
Once or twice a week is enough. Earwax isn't dirt: it protects the ear canal, and cleaning too much is counterproductive.
Is it suitable for children?
Only when used by an adult, and with extreme care. If in doubt, don't.
